Durational Nature

IMG_3443.JPG

Durational Nature challenges the life and duration of nature and how it exists in an artificial object. If the stainless steel containing the moss heats too much the moss is likely to dry out and die and if the moss is watered too much from the tap it’ll drown and also die.

This interactive work explores hybridity through combining sculpture and installation with the senses; sound is experienced through the trickling of water, which releases natural scent once it reaches the soil and moss. This intimate interaction with Teri’s work identifies how she experiences nature in her daily life by bringing the natural environment into an artificial space in a constructed and controlled manner.
